These are the day-to-day thoughts from Pastor Jeff Lawson. I pastor a Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Battle Lake, MN. This blog will hopefully help everyone who desires to pastor a church in a rural setting...

Zach

This is my oldeast son, Zachary. He turned 17 in January. He is so much like his old man it is scary. He wants to be liked. He is very outgoing and does not embarrass easily.

This is a picture that was taken at Wrigley Field this past summer (By the way I did buy the rights to the pic). He and I spent a few days away this past summer with just the two of us. I have done this with both of my boys during their lives.

It is hard as they get older. I want to continue to make decisions for them. I know though that it is important for them to start making mature decisions on their own. Zach has made some pretty bad decisions in the past year or so. His walk with the Lord is not what it should be. I know that it is not up to me to make him straighten up. It is up to me to set a good example, and to continue to share wisdom at every point that I get the chance. I must remember that he is a good boy and that he does a whole lot more good than he does bad. I need to celebrate the good a whole lot more than I come down on the bad!

Today he is going to the doctor with what looks to be a appendix surgery in the near future. If you think about him, please pray!
