Eating The Elephant

Ok, well I'm a slacker. It has been a long time since I found myself posting an entry on my blog. I'm a little embarrassed, but more than that I am terribly overworked! I have been without a secretary for quite some time. Cindy has come and helped me a bunch, but it is a little different when it is your wife volunteering.

This is a book that I have been reading for pleasure for the past week. It is a very helpful book that every pastor should read and keep on their shelf. The premise of the book is that existing churches can grow. There is hope for them. It does not happen overnight, but it can happen.

Here is a quote from page 43, "A renewed outreach emphasis and the discovery of the church's vision through the unleashed people result in ministry and growth." We as pastor's must listen to our people, constantly taking their pulse to decide the vision of the church. Pastor's come and go, but the church must survive.

Excellent book, and I would highly recommend!
