A Big Day...

This morning we are having a big day here at Cornerstone Church. We are abandoning our building for a picnic service at our city park. Our day is called, Friendship Sunday.

This is my first Friendship Sunday in Boone. They have been very popular in previous churches that I have pastored.

The weatherman is saying sunny and 85. That is a bit warm, but I remember past Friendship Sunday's that were chilly and rainy. Sunny and 85 is just fine with me!

The goal of this day is to encourage our people to bring their friends and family who would not typically come to church, to attend a non-threatening event outside the norm. This takes a lot of man hours and preparation, but it is worth it. I love the "All Hands on Deck" approach to church. It makes people take ownership. It creates a positive atmosphere. It also usually finds people coming to the Lord.
