Criticism

I have a fella that is really hitting me pretty hard these days. It is very hard to know exactly what to do. His emails are very hurtful and they are truly unwarranted. So far I have chosen not to respond to him. I am just deleting the email, but keeping them in my deleted files in case I need them later.

My elders are very involved, but they too are at a loss of exactly what to do in this scenario. The gentleman has left the church, but he still continues to write an email or so every week. He is blaming me for his lack of spiritual growth. I know that I should ignore it and move on.

Any thoughts???

I can't help but to think of 2 Timothy 2:14-19. Have nothing to do with the silly arguments, and do the thing God has called you to.

Seems like every pastor I've talked to lately is experiencing something similar.

I've often considered Nehemiah's response when criticized and threatened. He wouldn't stop the work of God to explain himself to his detractors.
