Election

Barack Obama does not agree with me on several issues that I believe are a bedrock of my morality. I teach ethics in a college university and I continually tell my students that they are the ones that have to look themselves in the mirror in the morning. We must live with our decisions. because of this, I will vote for John McCain. I hope that you will do the same.
When it comes to the economy and education and taking care of the middle-class, Obama is a smart choice. When it comes to the question, who would Jesus vote for, the tide turns. Homosexuality, abortion, honesty, and several other issues make me know without a shadow of a doubt that John McCain is the right choice for me.

Jeff, I didn't have to wrestle with the decision to vote for McCain. My primary reason is that I shutter to think who Obama will nominate to the federal judiciary if elected. The judicial branch of our government, though not discussed as often in the press as our executive and legislative branches, is the branch of government wreaking the most havoc with our liberties in recent years.
I respectfully disagree with your conclusion that Obama is the best choice for education, the economy and taking care of the middle class - but I don't have as much problem in those areas as the ones you mentioned in this entry such as abortion.
Of course McCain isn't my first choice on his side of the aisle but elections are not about perfect candidates as your blog entry aptly indicates.
The candidate in this election that I am not ashamed to say that I really like is Sarah Palin - in spite of the way the liberal press has excoriated her. The media gave Obama a free pass during this entire campaign when they could have jumped on ten times the inconsistencies and lack of experience in his life and platform than in Sarah Palin's.
But I will not be discouraged - and I know neither will you - no matter who is elected president of the United States - because Christ will always be King of the universe!
That's "shudder," not "shutter." I was typing in a hurry (as usual).
I am very sad that America has chosen Socialism over Freedom. Neither McCain or Obama were worthy of any of our votes, and, I Stayed True to my word and voted for RON PAUL.
I can look myself in the mirror by voting for Ron Paul, that wouldnt be the case with any other (so called) choices.
