baseball Season

Well the teams have started the Spring routine. Baseball season is soon upon us. I love sports! Baseball is by far my favorite. I get a lot of grief about the Bears, but I think that is because there are so many Vikings fans in Minnesota!

A couple of years ago I was able to go to Arizona for Spring Training while I was attending a conference. It was one of the funnest weeks of my life!

I had several conversations with ball players like Todd Helton, Andres Galarraga, and my all-time favorite Ryne Sandberg. I always dreamed of playing for the Chicago Cubs.

I'm pulling for the Cubs to win it all this year. Who is your pick? Let's talk baseball!

I grew up not far from Baltimore so I have been a lifelong Orioles fan. Some unimportant but interesting information: Cal Ripken Jr. was born in the same hospital as I was (Harford County Memorial in Havre de Grace, Maryland) and graduated from the same high school - in Aberdeen, Maryland. But I've never met him. I graduated in the spring of 1974 (on my 18th birthday) and he was a freshman in the fall of 1974. I believe his longest game streak is the most admirable statistic in all of sports. I've remained an Orioles fan all these years even though they've had more ups than downs.
