John 14
"'Because a loveless world,' said Jesus, 'is a sightless world. If anyone loves me, he will carefully keep my word and my Father will love him—we'll move right into the neighborhood!'" John 14:23 (MsgB)
I challenged the congregation to read from a chapter in John, starting with 14 and working their way to chapter 20 on Easter Sunday. Above is a verse from the Message paraphrase on verse 23. It struck me hard this morning. I have been thinking a lot lately about our culture. How we take goodness for granted.
There is not a lot of good that is intentionally being done. I think that is because we live in a loveless world. We are too interested in doing what is best for me and mine. That is contrary to what God has intended for this world. We should be on the lookout to do good. We must strive to keep God's Word while living in this world.
Go out of your way to show the love of God to this loveless world today!
