Summer Worship

I can't remember the last time I was so excited about a new ministry as what I am now for our Wednesday summer worship that will begin in about two weeks! I am convinced that this will play a major role in our future for Hawley Alliance Church.

A few reasons why I am so pumped about this new ministry...

- I believe that one thing that we really miss during our corporate worship experience is a true seeking after God's heart. I am the pastor and I have no one to blame but myself. It is true. A lot of times we feel that this and that have to be done, and we miss the true heart of worship; an honest endeavor to touch the heart of God.

With that being said, on Wednesday's this summer we will spend a great amount of time in singing praises to our Father. We will allow individuals to share their praises and prayer requests. We will get on our knees before the Almighty One and give Him the honor He so richly deserves!

- Another thing that excites me is the come as you are, and stay as long as you want environment. I feel that all too often that we are dictated by the clock. We try so hard to keep things in quick and tidy order. Don't get me wrong, I am all for order, but I do not want to be forced to go home because the Bears kick off in 10 minutes. In 10,000 years no one will remember who won between the Bears and Vikings. I enjoy football as much as the next guy, but I believe we need to get our priorities in place. I am praying that Wednesday nights this summer will help us to do that.

- The last thing I would mention that really excites me is the ability to preach both topically on Sunday's, and verse-by-verse through Philippians on Wednesday's. I prefer topical teaching, but am always challenged in the verse-by-verse teaching. I think this will be an awesome challenge for me.

Please join me in prayer as we as a church draw close to our new summer ministry. I welcome your comments and ideas for this summers services.
