These are the day-to-day thoughts from Pastor Jeff Lawson. I pastor a Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Battle Lake, MN. This blog will hopefully help everyone who desires to pastor a church in a rural setting...

Date Night

Last night our family enjoyed a date night together. We went to Hickory Park for supper (They have awesome creative burgers). I got my usual, the chili cheese burger with a tossed salad side, Cindy got chicken, Zach got a combination barbecue platter, and Josh got a cheddar and bacon burger. Good stuff and it only cost about $40 with tip...

After supper we went to the movies to see License to Wed. Over all, I would give it 2 out of 5 stars, but there were a couple of scenes where Robin Williams made you just laugh out loud. I would not want to have him as a pastor!

There was one scene where a couple was late to church and tried to sneak in. Williams was in the middle of the prayer and stopped to greet the people coming in. It was hilarious! But yes, it was sacrilegious at times.

We finished the night off with Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream. I had some sort of a strawberry ice cream sundae.

It was nice to have the whole family together for an evening...

Friendship Sunday was fun. No decisions for Christ that I know of, but the weather was nice and we had about 130 in attendance...

Oh, how I miss Hickory Park!!! Have you had any of their Sundaes?

I truly loved Ames. I wish I could pick up the town and move it here. Dude, you are in such a prime place in Boone.

Have you met the famous Blackie the Hobo from Boone yet?
